Our Jail Notary Process

Getting documents notarized for inmates in LA County's jail system can be complex. Here is a brief overview of what to expect in the process:
  1. Consultation: Contact us by text at (818) 538-8529 or by completing the contact/information form

    We will ask a few brief questions regarding your loved one, which facility they are in, and any special needs. We will then explain the process and discuss any facility specific requirements.

  2. Verification of Facility: We will help you verify your loved ones exact location. Sometimes inmates are moved to different facilities.

  3. Document Confirmation: We will ask for a picture of the documentation that you need your loved one to have notarized (We are not attorneys and can not provide advice on any documents)

  4. Scheduling: We will coordinate with the facility to schedule an appointment to get the notarization completed, depending on the facilities visitation protocols and hours.

  5. Get Document needing notarization: We will also set up an appointment with your to receive the document that needs to be notarized. We will either meet you outside the correctional facility or travel to meet you at a predesignted location to get it. Depending on the document, often times this can be emailed to us and we will print it. If it is possible we will ask for you to provide us with your loved ones legal ID. If you do not have access to it we will discuss other methods to verify them.

  6. On-Site Notarization: Our notary will travel to the facility, with the document(s), and meet with your loved one, verify their indentity, notarize them signing the document in compliance with California notarial laws.

  7. Delivery of Documents: After the notarization is complete, we will get the notarized document back to you in whatever method we have pre-arranged.
